Most popular publishers in the archive

It should be no surprise that François Maspero, who published much of Fanon’s work, should be among the top represented publishers in the Fanon library. Even after Fanon’s death, Josie continued to work with Maspero.

However, what is also interesting is that Gallimard dominates Maspero, overall. That said, the most popular press in the library is, without a doubt, Éditions en langues étrangères, which can be explained by the fact that Mao’s books were published by this press. Again, more reason to wonder and investigate why Mao is such a towering figure in this collection—and yet so little considered in Fanon studies.

What's interesting is that Éditions en langues étrangères, at least today, seems to be an imprint of Gallimard.
